Families Under Lockdown

Since October 7th, families have been under strict lockdown in Hebron. Soldiers often destroy or damage the food that Palestinian families bring back with them. Parents cannot work and struggle to afford basic supplies. Children are stuck indoors all day.

We are fundraising to support families in Hebron! Help families feed their children and afford household supplies. Help give children hope during these dark times! All donations go straight to struggling mothers in Hebron!*

For the first two weeks of the war, Palestinians could not leave their houses for any purpose. A strict curfew was then imposed allowing people outside for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, three days a week only. This curfew still stands in some of the hardest hit neighborhoods and families are struggling to survive.

Even before the war, Israeli forces imposed severe restrictions on the movement of Palestinian residents in H2 (the part of Hebron under Israeli military control). Now the restrictions are unbearable.

We are supporting the families by fundraising for the struggling mothers in the most vulnerable parts of Hebron. In the restricted part of H2, there are around 800 struggling families. Our donations will go to the most vulnerable families who need food, household supplies, and other basic necessities. We are also supporting the children with toys to give them hope and joy during these dark times. Your support can help a family make it through the lockdown!

*Monthly donations may also go toward our other projects.

Schools in the area are closed, so the children spend their days indoors. They watch from their windows as children of Israeli settlers can play freely outside. Settler harassment in Tel Rumeida has dramatically increased, along with constant surveillance by Israeli forces. Life in Tel Rumeida and other restricted Hebron neighborhoods has become unbearable and many residents with means and place to go, have left the area because life became impossible.

Families cannot have any visitors. No friends or family can come to their houses. No repairmen. Ambulances are delayed severely at the checkpoints or prevented from reaching the area entirely. Parents are hindered from working and provide for their families. Israel has also suspended the work permits allowing Palestinians to work in Israel, devastating the local economy further in an act of collective punishment.

The residents of Tel Rumeida have been so instrumental in the struggle to highlight the horrors of the occupation and apartheid they live under. Please consider donating whatever you are able to help them continue. Even a small donation has the ability to make a profound impact.
